Bob is a life-long resident of Oshawa and served for over 30 years with the Durham Regional Police, retiring as a Superintendent. Bob remained passionate about serving his community. He was elected as a Regional and City Councillor in 2010 and re-elected in 2014. A lifelong volunteer, he has worked with or supported numerous Oshawa and area organizations for over four decades.

Bob also served in the Canadian Army (both Regular and Reserve components) for over 37 years, holding many senior command and staff positions. He retired as a Colonel. In 2016, he was appointed Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel of The Ontario Regiment (RCAC) by Canada's Minister of National Defence.
